Licensed Home Plus · Bel Aire, Kansas

Visits welcome any day of the week, usually within 48 hours.

The part nobody explains
It is not a brand name or a marketing term. In Kansas, Home Plus is a licence category issued by the Department for Aging and Disability Services for an adult care home serving no more than twelve residents in a single-family residence.
We are licensed for seven. Kansas would allow us twelve. We chose fewer on purpose. In a house of this size, the difference between seven residents and twelve is the difference between being known and being a room number.
That number is the whole story. Seven people means a caregiver knows who takes their coffee before their pills, who gets anxious when the television is loud, and that a quiet morning is a change worth mentioning to the nurse. Those are the observations that keep people safe, and they are almost impossible to make across a ninety-bed building.
We are a house on a residential street in Bel Aire. There is a living room, a patio, a garden and a gazebo. Not a wing. Not a campus. A home.

Figures for the other options are typical Kansas ranges and vary by provider. We are happy to talk through where a competitor would serve your family better than we would.
Inside and out
Every room is private and properly equipped, the grounds are secure and genuinely pleasant to sit in, and the safety systems are the ones the state inspects rather than the ones that look reassuring in a brochure.

Modern, high-quality furniture, a large flat-screen television, high-speed internet and portable cordless telephones so residents can take a call wherever they are sitting.

Secure, beautifully maintained and furnished with comfortable seating — the right place for coffee or tea in the morning sun, and for time with family and friends.

Birthdays, holidays and anniversaries deserve somewhere better than a day room. Residents and their families gather here — and the sunsets over the garden are not a small thing either.
Our care
Whether you are planning months ahead or calling from a hospital corridor this afternoon, we will tell you plainly what we can do.
A permanent home with help for everything daily life now asks: bathing, dressing, moving safely, medications, meals, laundry and companionship — in a private room of their own.
What living here is like
A few days or a few weeks — for recovery after a hospital stay, while family travels, or simply because the person doing the caring needs to rest. Many families use respite to try us before deciding anything.
How short stays work
Nursing oversight on staff, not contracted out. It means we can accept residents other small homes turn away, respond to changes without a move, and take hospital discharges quickly.
What we can and cannot accept
Our passion for opening a residential care home is deeply rooted in our personal experience. When our father became seriously ill, our mother became the family's sole provider, and I left school to care for him until he passed away in 2001 after a five-year battle with illness.
That experience inspired my lifelong commitment to caring for others.
Straight answers about money
We charge a single monthly rate that covers the private room, every meal and snack, laundry, housekeeping, activities, personal care, and staffing around the clock. No add-on fee the first time someone needs help getting dressed.
What that rate comes to depends on the level of care your family member needs, so we would rather quote it properly than guess at it here. Call us and you will get the full picture in one conversation — the rate, anything billed separately, and an honest read on what to expect.
We accept Medicare, and residents use it here for doctor visits, therapy, home-health visits, equipment and hospice. Medicare pays for medical care rather than room and board, so the monthly rate is met privately, by long-term care insurance, or through VA and Kansas waiver benefits — we will tell you plainly which of those fits your family.

Questions families ask first
We are at 5353 N Toben Ct in Bel Aire, Kansas — a quiet residential street in one of the calmest, best-kept communities in the Wichita metro area. Families visit us from across the metro, including Wichita, Kechi, Park City and Derby.
Yes. A caregiver is awake and on duty through the night, every night. We do not use sleeping or on-call overnight staff.
It is a licence category issued by the Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services for a care home serving no more than twelve residents in an ordinary house. It is a real home on a residential street, not a wing of a larger facility. Happy Care Home Plus is licensed for seven residents — fewer than the category allows, and deliberately so.
Yes. Every resident has their own private room, furnished with a state-approved medical bed, a spacious closet and a large flat-screen television. Residents are welcome to bring their own furniture and belongings to make the room feel like theirs.
The entire property is fully fenced and monitored by security cameras. We have a fire alarm system approved by the Kansas State Fire Marshal, all required emergency exits, and fire extinguishers throughout the house.
Usually, yes. Having skilled nursing on staff means we can support many changes in condition that would require a move elsewhere. There are limits, and we will always tell you honestly and early if we reach ours — including what we would recommend instead.
Our monthly rate covers the private room, all meals and snacks, laundry, housekeeping, activities, personal care and around-the-clock staffing. Because the right rate depends on the level of care someone needs, we will quote it for you directly. Give us a call and we will walk you through the full picture before you commit to anything.
Yes. Residents keep their Medicare and use it here — doctor visits, hospital care, physical and occupational therapy, home-health visits, medical equipment and hospice are all delivered in the house, and we coordinate the appointments and paperwork. Medicare covers medical care rather than room and board, so the monthly rate is met privately, by long-term care insurance, or through VA or Kansas waiver benefits.
Yes. This is your family member's home, and families are welcome. We ask only that you avoid personal-care times so residents keep their privacy and dignity.
Come and see for yourself
Come at a mealtime. Sit on the patio. Talk to whoever is on shift, and watch how residents are spoken to when nobody is performing for a visitor. That will tell you more than any website can.
Call and you will reach someone who works in the house, not a call centre. If we are not the right fit for your family, we will say so, and point you toward somewhere that is.
We will call you back the same day, usually within a couple of hours.
